2020 has been, if nothing else, a memorable year. I hope that there have been moments of levity and kindness set into the darkness. And I hope that this reminder that Nevis is still here, still bursting with sunshine and smiles and laughter, is a welcome one.

Perhaps surprisingly, we have had a particularly busy year here at Nevis Style Realty. The low number of Covid-19 cases on both St Kitts and Nevis and the manner in which the government has acted to ensure the safety of all its citizens, have both appealed to those seeking safety and sanctuary.

The changes to the Citizenship By Investment program – to include siblings, and the extension of the scheme to include non-resort properties – have also been responsible for this increased interest in island real estate.

Furthermore, investor incentives introduced by the Nevis Island Administration – including the waiving of the 10% Alien Landholders License fee (extended until March 31st 2021) and significant concessions on building materials – have definitely been responsible for engaging the interest of clients. 

Both nationals and non-nationals have taken advantage of the lender services provided by TDC Financial Services, The Bank of Nevis and the National Bank, with three of our clients obtaining financing for their dream properties here: a condominium, a land purchase, and a villa. 

Despite the strict quarantine requirements imposed by the government, people have been keen to return to the islands they love. Perhaps it is because these very same quarantine requirements ensure that introducing Covid-19 to St Kitts and Nevis is almost impossible, and our safe corner of the world remains exactly that. 

We have assisted homeowners in ensuring their properties are quarantine compliant, thereby enabling them to return and, after the mandatory two week period, once more integrate into island life. And we have been happy to help prospective buyers with their arrangements, ensuring they are able to visit, find their perfect property, and take advantage of the multiple incentives currently in place.
