First there is the stunning Sweet Retreat located in desirable Calypso Bay. A gorgeous deck area leads to a pool that has views across to the sea and sunsets: it’s the perfect placement for sundowners and soirees. Staying on St Kitts, there’s Villa 201 in Sanctuary Lane, a high-end luxury collection of modern villas in exclusive Christophe Harbour. This particular villa is an extraordinary architectural concept, where the interior and exterior are starkly different and yet perfectly blended. Inside it’s all crisp, sharp lines, with vast windows to take advantage of the tropical views.

The master bedroom leads to an outdoor rain shower and a private plunge pool. Yet the garden is all sweeping curves, the gentler lines of nature, with even the pool and whirlpool having soft, sweeping edges. With mature palms rustling high above, this truly is a unique retreat.

Looking across to St Kitts from Nevis sits Bay Roc, a five bedroom traditionally-styled villa with views across the bay.

Set high above the safest swimming beach on the island, this is a beautiful home that is all about space and easy living. The expansive verandah leads to a pool with a perfect view, and further along there is a floodlit tennis court: perfect for playing at night when the temperatures drop. There’s also a tennis pavilion complete with bar and kitchenette, so this really is a home for those looking to accommodate large groups of family and friends in one of the island’s most desirable locations.

Set higher still on the Peak’s jungle-clad slopes is Castelet, one of the more distinctive properties in the Federation.

Comprised of seven individual, strategically positioned pods that are joined by covered walkways that wind through lush tropical gardens, this is truly a place for those seeking space and privacy. Ultimately, these all lead to a terrace with a pavilion and infinity pool with views that reach across the bay to St Kitts and beyond. There can be few finer locations for sunset aficionados.
